Sex Compulsion and Addiction
- Let’s not let the term distract us…
Sexual actions that I take that can be shameful, secretive, and manipulative can be destructive to my relationships, and most of all with my relationship with myself. So, if my actions are:
- Secretive (I don’t tell you that I’ve got someone (or two or three) on the side)
- Shameful (I’m embarrassed that I go to these places or do these things)
- Manipulative (I re arrange my schedule so I can look at porn; I have sex instead of getting a cup of coffee with my friends; I lie to you or others about my whereabouts, etc.)
These are the Red Flags that my sexual expression is OUT OF CONTROL.Is it your experience that you can’t talk, even if you wanted to, due to your position, either in the company or community?
Anger isn’t Violence.
Anger is an emotion. Just like Happy, Sad, Fear, and Hurt.
When I don’t express my emotions, then I could take actions that are violent.

- “You can do it.”
- “You’re right, that wasn’t ok.”
- “You can go ahead and feel angry”
- “I understand, I get it.”
- “It’s OK.”
- “Trust yourself, you can do it.”

Bisexuality
Can guys like women and guys? (And a woman like women?) Yes.If I like a guy and a woman at the same time, it’s called latitudinal bisexuality. If I like a woman for, let’s say from 0-25 years old, but then I like men for the rest of my life, that’s longitudinalbisexuality. (Giraffes express this type of sexuality). In humans, at least in my experience, we tend to say that that person was gay all along. Maybe.
But in animal studies, that’s not how they look at it (I’m referencing the book, Biological Exuberance here). Sex is fluid. Attractions are deeper down than “likes” and “dislikes.” If we’re attracted to someone or something (such as a career or city in which to live), we’re just attracted to it, and in the case of fellow humans, we’re just naturally attracted to them!
